The manga app, Viz Media, available in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand
The Viz Media manga app is now available in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, after announcing last year that it would expand its availability. Previously, the app was only available in Canada and the USA. The company also expanded its library on Tuesday, adding Marvel manga to the platform.
The service features more than 10,000 chapters of Shogakukan and Shueisha titles. The app is adding "Deadpool: Samurai", "Wolverine: Snikt!", "Spider-Man: Fake Red", "Marvel's Secret Reverse", "Spider-Man: Octo-Girl" and "X-Men: The Manga Remastered".
Viz Media was founded in 1986 as VIZ, LLC. In 2005, VIZ, LLC and ShoPro Entertainment merged to form the current VIZ Media, LLC, which is owned by the Japanese publishing conglomerates Shueisha and Shogakukan, as well as the Japanese production company Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions (ShoPro). In 2017, Viz Media was the largest publisher of graphic novels in the United States in the bookstore market, with a 23% share of the market.
