J.K. Rowling's "The Christmas Pig" gets movie adaptation

"Jack e o porquinho de Natal", de J.K. Rowling, ganha adaptação para o cinema

"The Christmas Pig", a 2021 children's book by Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling, is being developed as a film adaptation. The project is "at a very early stage of internal development", presumably through Rowling's production company, Bronte. There is no studio attached at the moment. The basic numbers for any Rowling book are pretty high, although obviously nothing she's done since the Harry Potter franchise has reached this level of global phenomenon.

The book is an exciting adventure about a child's love for his most precious treasure and how far he is willing to go to find it. A passionate fable for the whole family, written by one of the world's greatest storytellers. A boy and his toy are about to change everything... Jack has a little pink stuffed pig that he calls The Poto. OP, as he has come to be known, is by Jack's side in good times and bad and understands all his feelings. Until, one Christmas Eve, to the boy's great sadness, OP is lost. Jack gets a new toy, the Christmas Pig, and it is this replacement that will set up a plan so that, together, they embark on a journey full of magic in search of what has been lost and in order to reunite with the best friend Jack ever had.

Rowling is returning to the world of Harry Potter soon. The author is executive producer of the HBO series of the Potter books. The excitement about the series has been tempered by concerns that it won't be as good, and the recent J.K. Rowling controversies aren't helping matters either.
